Speaking of blocking ads automatically…

Oct 7, 2009

Lifehacker has a post describing Arora, an open source browser that comes with a lot of built in functionality, including ad blocking – something that others have been talking about and which I discussed a little while ago.  One thing to note here is that it is open source – one of the arguments against the idea that browsers would start blocking ads by default was/is that the makers of browsers generally have a vested interest in ad revenue.  While this is obviously not a major browser, it does demonstrate that that argument is not air tight.
